The plunging neckline trend is something I was yet to fully embrace, and while I love this style, it is sort of tricky to pull off. So I decided my first attempt would be for a New Years Eve inspired look in Goa (warm enough to wear a dress like this in the middle of winter without becoming a Popsicle), and it would be this stunning hand-dyed monochrome beauty from one of my favorite quirky brands- Nor Black Nor White.
Since this is a statement dress, I’ve decided to keep my accessories minimal (just a couple of Flashtats), hair tied up in a messy bun to really showcase the neck, and makeup festive but understated with a bare face, dark brown eyeliner and bold orangey-red lips (Jenna by Bobbi Brown- one of my all time faves). Add some shimmery bronzer to your body lotion to get your skin glowing and supple- it’s a must to moisturize if you’re showing lots of bare skin, and that’s pretty much all you need!
This style is definitely for girls with a smaller bust, unless the dress you have in mind is fitted at the chest and can provide enough support, but even with a smaller bust, nipple stickers and double sided tape are your best friends if you don’t want to flash the whole world every time you sit or bend down. This kind of look definitely works more for slightly formal or festive occasions, and I can see it being perfect for a beach wedding or a fun cocktail night with the girls. Add a pair of heels, a black clutch, and some cool dangly earrings for night, and if it’s daytime, a pair of vintage inspired winged sunglasses, dainty jewelery and well moisturised, glowing skin to complete the look. The result? Sexy & chic without trying too hard. Since my Goa style is quite low-key, I traded in my high heels for bare feet, a clutch for sun kissed skin, and temporary tattoos instead of jewellery.
Send me pictures of you in the plunging neck trend and be featured on the blog.
I have more style, beauty, and wanderlust tales coming your way super soon xx
