On my recent trip to New York, I decided to pay homage to the 1960’s with a bold, printed co-ord set from Nete. In, another brand in my Label Love series featuring clothing with a conscience.
Nete (pronounced netty) is multi-designer website with a focus on fair trade, sustainable and zero waste fashion. This set is from a collaboration Nete did with Delhi based brand Doodlage, another company that works with eco-friendly materials and up-cycles waste fabrics from large export houses.
The bold fan print, almost reminiscent of mermaid scales, paired with retro cut ankle length cigarette pants and a matching blouse, instantly evokes the feminine yet practical style of the late 1950’s and 1960’s. I’ve paired this look with a forest green belt to break to pattern a bit, and kept accessories simple, understated and classic with thick framed retro sunglasses and strappy flats. This outfit was perfect and super comfortable to wear out for a day of shopping on the Upper East Side in New York followed by an early dinner, the lightweight cotton fabric kept me feeling cool through the entire day. The price points are also fantastic, and fully in the affordable range while still keeping you away from fast fashion and designs that are so repetitive, you’ll see every woman wearing the same thing. If you want to stand out, stay comfortable, and still be eco-conscious, then Nete is for you!
Stay tuned for parts II & III of my collaboration with Nete. In, coming very soon!
