This was a fun little shoot I did in Bombay featuring my recent obsession- knee high lace ups. So I’ve always been a boho girl, and lace ups are nothing new to me or the world (I own shorter versions in like every color) but I’d been dying to get my hands on a neutral beige thigh high pair for the longest time. It adds all the drama without being unnecessarily OTT, and matches almost everything with its lovely, creamy tone.
The thing to know about knee or even calf high lace up gladiators is that they need to fit snug & perfect; all the way from your foot, through your ankle and through the calf. If they’re super big on you they won’t look too hot, your legs will be floating in the shoe as if you borrowed your older sisters. They key is to find ones that actually lace up and can be tightened according to your shape. I tried and failed with many pairs that simply had a zip at the back and nothing else to adjust the size except a couple of buckles (that did nothing except look cute). If you find a pair that fits you without any need for adjustments DROP EVERYTHING AND BUY IT THAT SECOND. It’s like finding the holy grail of knee high glads, you’ll thank me later. As they say, nothing haunts us more than the things we didn’t buy 😉
These will carry you through any day with style, and a little bit of edge for an extra spring in your step. Not to forget that they are very comfortable since they grip the foot & leg so well. Try a black, brown, or nude pair for maximum wearability & bang for your buck, and remember, the fit is the most important thing here! You can pair these with shorts, skirts & dresses of any length, and even just your boyfriends t-shirt with your sleeves rolled up for a cute, casual vibe.
